Privacy Policy


Our journal covers how we use your personal information. We take your privacy seriously and will take all measures to protect your personal information. Any personal information received will only be used to fulfill your order, and may be used for internal analytical purposes. We will not sell or redistribute your information to anyone and shall not disclose your privacy to others which between maintain by us. If you do not agree with all the terms in this Privacy Statement, you should not use IJEW website or services.

This Privacy Statement describes:

  1. Types of information IJEW collects from members, subscribers, and readers and how this information is used
  2. With whom IJEW shares the information it collects
  3. Steps that IJEW takes to protect the privacy of the information it collects
  4. Choices the user may make about the information he or she provides

1) Types and use of information collected

A) Personal Information
IJEW collects only information supplied by the user. On certain web pages IJEW asks the user to enter personal information such as name, address, email address, telephone number, fax number, credit card number, and other information from which the user’s identity is discernible. Examples include:

  1. Registration information
  2.  Abstract submission information
  3. Manuscript submission site
  4. The IJEW email alerts sign-up page.
  5. The “Feedback” page of IJEW
  6. When users contact IJEW by phone or email

IJEW will use bank information only to process a payment.

Other personal information will be used to provide the user with the services author(s) signs up to receive, or items the user purchases.

B) Non-Personal Information
IJEW also collects non-personal information such as:

  1. Cookies. These are pieces of data placed on the user’s hard drive for a variety of reasons, including authentication (for example, to track different roles for different logins on The IJEW manuscript submission site). Cookies are collected by third party vendors with whom IJEW contracts for services. Users may set browsers to alert them to the use of cookies and may reject the use of the cookie, but rejection may prevent the website from functioning properly.
  2. IP addresses. These are used to verify subscriber status.
  3. Web-beacons. These are objects embedded into a webpage or email which allow IJEW to confirm that the user has viewed the webpage or the email.
  4. Referring website addresses.

2) Sharing of information

IJEW does not sell or otherwise disclose the information it collects to third parties, except as follows:

  1. Certain information is shared with service providers retained by IJEW. For example, in order to allow subscribers to access to IJEW, IP addresses are shared with the vendor whose servers host the journal.

  2. If required to do so by law, or if requested/subpoenaed by law enforcement agencies.

  3. Information may be disclosed to consultants for internal business purposes.

  4. IJEW may sell its mailing list to parties who provide products or services of interest to engineers. Members who do not wish to have their mailing addresses shared in this manner can contact info@ijew.io. Email addresses are never sold to third parties.

IJEW reserves the right to transfer information in the event that another entity acquires portions of the activities conducted by IJEW. Should this occur, all reasonable efforts will be made to ensure the new entity follows a similar Privacy Policy to IJEW.

3) Steps IJEW takes to protect the privacy of information it collects

IJEW implements reasonable technical and administrative practices to safeguard the information it collects. For example, IJEW has up-to-date antivirus and antispyware programs run on its computers and servers. IJEW admins are trained on appropriate use of information and the need for confidentiality. In addition, credit card payments submitted online on web pages are secured by the appropriate software and verified by SSL certficate of COMODO RSA. Credit card numbers submitted online are not stored by IJEW.

4) Your choices

  1. If you would like to update your member contact information and preferences, you can send email at info@ijew.io

  2. If you do not wish to have your mailing address shared with third parties, email contact@ijew.io

  3. If you would like to modify your preferences for email archive alerts, you can use subscribe to archive tab below the footer of front page of the journal site.

  4. To unsubscribe from email alerts from IJEW, click unsubscribe at the bottom of the email.

  5. Your use of IJEW websites constitutes your acceptance of this Privacy Statement. If you do not agree with all the terms in this Privacy Statement, you should not use IJEW websites or services.
